About Marla

Marla Renteria, a proud Nevadan with deep roots in Henderson, has a remarkable journey that reflects her resilience and dedication to both her education and her son, Cruz. Born and raised in Northern Nevada, Marla made a significant life-changing decision over 15 years ago to relocate to Southern Nevada to pursue her law degree at UNLV, all while raising her young son as a single mother.

In 2008, Marla, with a burning drive to secure a better future for herself and Cruz, moved to Las Vegas to attend the prestigious UNLV, William S. Boyd School of Law. Her decision to make Henderson her home came a few years later, choosing this vibrant community to provide a nurturing environment for her son’s growth.

Marla’s story is one of humble beginnings and unwavering determination. A Mexican American woman, she overcame challenges to obtain her law degree and make a significant positive impact in her community.

For the past 10 years Marla has been protecting the constitutional rights and dignity of the most vulnerable people in our community. Her litigation experience in the Justice Court has given her firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by those seeking justice and the necessity for practical solutions to address criminal behavior that addresses the root cause of the conduct while keeping the community safe. Her experience fuels her passion to ensure fair and equitable legal processes for all.

In every case, Marla’s unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of the Constitution will guide her decisions. She is determined to contribute to the maintenance of a legal system that reflects the values of the community, promotes equal access to justice, and keeps the community safe.
